Workshop on 'Career Catalysts: CV, Resume, and Bio-data'
Today, a workshop on 'Career Catalysts: CV, Resume, and Bio-data' was organized at our Matushri R. R. Monapara Arts College by Asst. Prof. Vipul Dabhi Sir and Asst. Prof. Kavisha Aalagia Ma’am.
In this workshop, Vipul Dabhi Sir explained the distinctions between CVs, resumes, job applications, and bio-data, and demonstrated how to prepare them using online platforms such as Canva, Microsoft Word, and Google Docs, providing valuable information on the topic.
Kavisha Aalagia Ma’am provided us with guidance on preparing a resume, including the necessary information to include and methods for enhancing its visual appeal.
Additionally, both professors also shared their own CVs as examples, simplifying our understanding of the CV format. They also emphasized that if something can be conveyed concisely and clearly, there's no need to unnecessarily complicate it with lengthy content, especially considering the current era of short attention spans, as seen with Instagram reels. Therefore, the simpler and more straightforward the message, the more likely it is to be read by people.
And in the final part of the workshop, they also gave us a task to prepare our own resume, and they assisted us in its preparation.
I am sharing my own resume, which is prepared on Canva.
